Compressive Sensing for Numerical Multi-Static Scattering Analysis

چکیده
Compressive sensing (CS) is a framework in which one attempts to measure a signal in a compressive mode, implying that fewer total measurements are required vis-à-vis direct sampling methods. Compressive sensing exploits the fact that the signal of interest is compressible in some basis, and the CS measurements correspond to projections (typically random projections) performed on the basisfunction coefficients. In this paper we demonstrate that ideas from compressive sensing may be exploited in the context of electromagnetic modeling, here multi-static scattering from an arbitrary target. In this context the computational analysis may be viewed as a numerical experiment, and ideas from compressive sensing may be used to reduce the number of computations required for target characterization. It is demonstrated that the compressive-sensing framework may be applied with relatively minor modifications to many existing numerical models, with examples presented here for a fast-multipole computational engine.

In this paper, the energy absorption features of tri-layer explosive-welded deep-drawn cups subjected to quasi-static axial compressive loading are investigated numerically and experimentally. To produce the cups, tri-layer blanks composed of aluminum and stainless steel alloys were fabricated by an explosive-welding process and formed by a deep drawing setup. The quasi-static tests were carrie...

متن کاملCompressive Sensing and Signal Subspace Methods for Inverse Scattering including Multiple Scattering
Compressive sensing is a new field in signal processing and applied mathematics. It allows one to simultaneously sample and compress signals which are known to have a sparse representation in a known basis or dictionary along with the subsequent recovery by linear programming (requiring polynomial (P) time) of the original signals with low or no error [1, 2, 3]. In a discrete setting, sparsity ...
متن کاملTDL: Two-dimensional localization for mobile targets using compressive sensing in wireless sensor networks
Many applications in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) ( e.g. , traffic monitoring, environment surveillance and intruder tracking) rely heavily on the availability and accuracy of targets’ locations. Compressive sensing (CS) has been widely applied to localization as it asserts that a small number of samples will suffice for sparse or compressible signal recovery. Despite much progress in CS-bas...
